Nursery children have been exploring all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stages:

• Communicate & Language - Singing nursery rhymes and movement song alongside the Startwell characters Sammy Skills, Active Azra

• Physical Development - Fine motor - manipulating playdough by rolling, squeezing and squashing, building towers with small and large blocks, using scissors to cut shapes

• Personal, Social & Emotional Development - Self Regulation & managing self, making choices to choice what activities they wold like to take part in.

• Literacy - Extending word knowledge by introducing new words when building towers, larger, massive, smaller & tiny words used.

• Mathematics - Counting with different construction items, making shapes with the peg boards and how do magnets work.

• Understanding the World - Exploring fossils in dinosaur play, mixing different textures together and seeing what happens such as water and flour, is gloop a liquid or solid.

• Expressive Arts and Design - Exploring colours using paint, coloured water, sand and building blocks. Mixing the colours together to make different colours also making houses out of shapes
