November 2023
Nursery children have been interested in people who help them, Autumn and the great outdoors :
- Communication and Language: small group conversations about medical practitioners, their personal experiences, asking questions and listening to others, practising new words. The conversations also led to transport such as cars, trains and construction vehicles.
- Understanding the world - The natural environment, taking an interest in the outdoors, how the trees are changing during Autumn. The nature garden has been full of different coloured leaves which the children have collected, played and explore with, different materials such as foam, water and ice play.
- Expressive arts and design: Being creative with Autumn colours using red, yellow, orange and brown paint and spoons to 'splat' it onto the paper to look like leaves.
-
Motor Skills - Practicing fine motor skills, copying their names on paper and using white boards and pens.
- Literacy - looking at the book "The Stickman" different examples of print and pictures in books and letter forming.
- Maths: Counting, sorting, measuring, shapes, patterns in the environment
